This 2 bedroom villa stands in its own gardens in the traditional hamlet of Macheri - a 40 minute drive (but a world away) from Chania and the airport. The surroundings and views are glorious, with the rolling green hills of the beautiful Apokoronas region leading down to the sea and the White Mountains as an imposing backdrop. Add accommodation that combines traditional character with comfort, genuine Cretan warmth and hospitality from your hosts Kostas and Roula, and the sights and sounds of the country all around, this is a side of Crete that will live long in the memory of country and nature lovers.
The villa is stone built and on three levels. Entrance is into a spacious living room with a high wooden ceiling, wood floor, a full kitchen and a fireplace. This leads out onto a big covered stone terrace - the perfect breakfast venue - with lovely views to the White Mountains and the rolling countryside down to Kalives and the sea. There is a further, large covered patio with table and chairs, verdant gardens with fun and mulberry trees, a BBQ and a swimming pool.
This is a beautiful home-from-home, designed with great love and traditionally furnished with much use of fragrant woods (including cypress and eucalyptus), handmade furniture and colourful woven Cretan rugs and curtains.
