Sunvil Holidays is passionate about the destinations it specialises in, the local people it works with and the environment. So much so, from 2007 it will be one of the first tour operators in the UK to offer its clients the chance to help offset some of the damage that carbon emissions cause, with the choice of opting 'out' instead of 'in'. This alternative approach means that instead of listing carbon offsetting as an optional charge, Sunvil will include it in the holiday price, encouraging clients to think about what it means before deciding whether or not to opt out of paying it.

Sunvil Holidays believes that this is a start and, although it's not the ultimate solution, such small steps will go some way towards safeguarding the planet and may encourage others to follow suit. Donations made will be invested in verified offset projects that generate CO2 savings to balance out emissions.The specialist operator has also produced some simple tips for its customers to help protect local communities and donates 50p from every holiday booked direct to the Travel Foundation - a UK charity that cares for tourist destinations.

As a member of AITO, Sunvil Holidays acknowledges the importance of its Responsible Tourism guidelines and has been awarded two-star status.
