Forty years ago there were donkeys in plenty on Paxos. Now these have reduced in number to only a handful. However, you have an opportunity to take a leisurely stroll along some donkey paths on this beautiful island in the company of Socrates, one of the few remaining donkey’s here.
Starting in Fontana, we follow a roundabout route to Magazia where we stop for refreshment at a traditional kafenion. The return journey to Fontana takes us through a different picturesque landscape.
This is a three kilometre walk which begins at 9.30am and ends at approximately 12.30pm.
Stout shoes, a sunhat and some water are advisable.
