Kastro Houses | Peloponnese

These superb houses are the best we have seen in this most beautiful area. Situated in an olive grove a 7-8 minute walk from Kardamili village (500m) and a 5 minute walk from the best part of the beach, the four detached stone houses here offer exceptionally high standards, good privacy and oodles of peace and quiet. We could not recommend a stay here more highly.


The Set up
Arktos and Mesimvria 1-bedroom houses are the middle pair, stepped back from one another, and are all on one level. They each comprise a spacious open plan living room with a fitted kitchen area and an archway leading through to the double bedroom, which has a lovely en suite walk-in shower room. A comfortable full sized sofa bed in the lounge can sleep a third person. Outside is a private (not overlooked) shaded terrace looking to the olive trees.

Anatoli is nearest the village and built on two floors in a traditional Maniot tower house design. It has the same features as above, but split level with the bedroom and shower room above the living room (which has a guest wc). It has a spacious shaded ground floor side terrace and also an open balcony off the bedroom with sea, mountain and village views.

The largest house is the 2-bedroom called Dysi. Entrance is up steps into the first floor living room/kitchen fronted by a huge sea view terrace, part shaded. The two bedrooms are upstairs - a double and a small twin - as is the shower room, and each bedroom accesses a sun terrace with great sea, views.

The houses are beautifully furnished with top quality fixtures and tasteful decor. All possess WiFi, air conditioning, a well equipped kitchen with full cooker and dishwasher (Dysi has a washing machine also), a comfortable sofa-bed in the lounge for an extra person, sat TV, safety deposit box and hairdryer. There are two bicycles available for guests' use free of charge.

The owner, Petros, runs the fine Kastro restaurant 30m to the rear. This will not disturb but is very handy. The best part of Kardamili beach is accessed via a path through the olive trees, and here you will find another good restaurant (Elies) and a cafe.
