KATELIOS

Located right down on the south eastern tip of the island, Katelios is a fishing village which has grown in recent years. Most of the fishermen have opened their own tavernas, some directly on the sea front where their morning catch goes straight into the kitchen, giving a wide range of fresh fish to choose from. The village is renowned for its fish tavernas. There is a good selection of shops and cafe bars. To one side of the village is its sandy beach, a five minute walk away, where the sand shelves away gently into the Ionian sea. The local wildlife conservation society has its headquarters in Katelios and a lot of interesting information can be had there.

A five minute drive from the village is Kaminia/Mouda Bay a vast expanse of sand with very shallow waters - ideal for children.
