Katia's House
Kalamakia | Sleeps 2-6Katia’s House stands on a hillside overlooking the tiny port of Kalamakia, half way along the East coast of the island. The port is effectively “home” for four local families. The wives and daughters look after the four waterfront tavernas and the husbands and sons cast their nets daily from their caïques to ensure a rich selection of fresh fish.
Katia’s views are dramatic: down to Kalamakia port and across the sea to the islands of Peristera and Kyra Panagia. A steep, private and stepped pathway, shaded by tall pine trees, leads down from the house to the port in two minutes.
Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.
The pool terraces overlook the sea and are bordered by colourful plants.
Accommodation
Katia’s House consists of two separate buildings – but considered as one – a few metres apart. Each unit has an upper floor of one double bedroom with sea-facing balcony; bathroom with shower. Stairs down to sitting room with sofa bed leading to sea-facing terrace; shower room; kitchen.
